Olympia Board of Education Accepts Report for District's Future Building/Renovations
A Decision Based on Recommendation of the Citizens' Facilities Planning Committee
After 3 months of community meetings and much research and consideration, a final meeting seeking public input regarding Olympia's future building/renovation projects was held December 7, 2006. Led by the Citizens' Facilities Planning Committee, this meeting provided information of 2 possible options for the district's future renovation projects at Olympia High/Middle School, Olympia South Elementary, and Olympia West Elementary, along with a new attendance center for Olympia North Elementary students. At the conclusion of this meeting, all in attendance were asked to vote on one option. An unanimous vote was received. Please view the attached flyer for complete details of this favored option.
Mr. Joe Dehn of Danvers and Mr. Ken Wilson of Waynesville, representatives of the Citizens' Facilities Planning Committee, presented the recommended option to the Board of Education at its regular scheduled meeting on December 11, 2006. They provided a power-point presentation which showed the monetary breakdown of the recommendation. This information is also included in the attached flyer. During the Action Items portion of the Board meeting, the Board approved to accept the recommended report.
