| I was born in Indiana and lived there till
fifth grade. That year my family moved to my father's home
town of Atlanta, IL. I grew up in Atlanta, attending Atlanta
Grade School and one year of Atlanta High School. My
sophomore year was the first year that Olympia High School was
open. At OHS I played football, basketball, and threw discus
in track. I also participated in other activities such
as student council, National Honor Society, Math Science Club, and
Spanish Club. I attended Illinois State University and graduated with a B.A. The most important thing that happened to me was meeting my future wife Cari. We married soon after graduation. I taught at Shepard High School in Palos Heights, coaching football, basketball, and baseball. After moving downstate, I taught Spanish and French at LeRoy and Heyworth High Schools. While teaching at these schools, my daughter Staci was born. I next taught math and science at Atlanta Jr. High. At Atlanta I also coached basketball and chess. My son Joshua was born at this time. During my Atlanta years I also received my Master's degree in Spanish and French languages from Illinois State University. Finally, I was back as a teacher at Olympia. During my time at OHS I have coached basketball, track (the throwers), chess and scholastic bowl. My school phone
