The fifth grade students at Olympia North Elementary School successfully completed the D.A.R.E. Program during the fall semester. D.A.R.E. Graduation was held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008. The fourth grade classes, who will be doing D.A.R.E. next year as fifth graders, also attended the graduation ceremony. Deputy Bay of the McLean County Sheriff's Department, our D.A.R.E. Officer, did an excellent job in leading our graduation ceremony. Chief Deputy Thomas and Lt. Wick of the McLean County Sheriff's Department also joined us for the ceremony. Their attendance was appreciated.
D.A.R.E. Essays are the final assignment for the students. Six students were selected to read their essays to the audience. The six readers were Bailey Bauer, Logan Biggs, Logan Darnall, Christopher Guerts, Larrisa Lee, and Miranda Teutsch. All of these students did well. At the end of the ceremony, students received a D.A.R.E. Graduation Certificate and a D.A.R.E. Shirt.
