D.A.R.E. Graduation at West

D.A.R.E. graduation was held at Olympia West on Wednesday, January 23rd at 12:45 PM for fifth graders in Mr. Figura’s and Mrs. Johanson’s classes. Fifty-three students graduated from the program which required a semester of instruction from D.A.R.E. Officer Weseloh, an essay and a final exam. The essay winners for this year were Ashton Beachy, Jenny Bennet, Hayley Hymbaugh, Austin Lang and Jacob Watt. Each of these students read their award winning essay at the graduation ceremony. In addition to recognizing the essay winners, students receiving top scores on their final exam were honored. Following the ceremony students were joined by their family and friends in the cafeteria for a reception.
The school would like to thank Chief Weseloh for working with our fifth graders this year. Thank you to all the parents and family members that came to the graduation to support our students.
