About two hundred students, parents, and teachers came out to OMS on Tuesday night to enjoy “Paws to Read, because Mrs. Akers Says So.” Paws to Read was a family reading night that emphasized finding courage through books and animals, which are two of Mrs. Akers’s passions. The evening consisted of a free meal for the family, snacks, raffles, button making, face painting, a slide show, READ posters, and special guest readers. A couple of the planned guests were unable to attend due to the weather. We appreciate all those families who were in attendance and everyone who helped out with the evening to make it a success!
