HCC Scholarships
or How to go to college for almost nothing

Besides being a great way to get started with higher education, Heartland Community College offers many scholarships with varying criteria. Seniors planning to attend Heartland should stop in the Guidance Office and pick up a Scholarship Guide or look at the one in your advisor's room. Deadlines vary.
Two Specific scholarships at HCC are:
Any student who is named a valedictorian at the end of the school year automatically qualifies for the Heartland Community College Trustee Scholarship. This scholarship awards all tuition and fees to HCC for up to 4 semesters. Deadline is June 30, 2008.
The Community Scholars Program will waive all tuition and fees up to a maximum of four semesters of full-time enrollment and summer school sessions, plus a $200 book allowance for second year participants. The program helps prepare students for transfer and offers academic excellence, leadership opportunities, and experiential learning based on service within the community. Selection for the program is based on leadership and involvement in community service or school service programs while in high school. The Guidance Office has brochures and application packets. Deadline to apply is March 31, 2008.
