Jump Rope for Heart

Olympia West physical education classes have been jumping rope for those who can not. We hold a Jump Rope for Heart event each year to help the students become aware of people who have difficulty jumping, walking and running because of heart disease. The students were asked to collect money for the American Heart Association and then use the skills that have been acquired during the jump rope unit to jump in honor and memory of someone who has heart disease.
This year we have collected $4330.25 to date. In the $200 plus club are three students; Hunter Devall, Colin Rosenberger and Joseph O’Brien. Thank you to all students who collected money, every penny counts. We would also like to thank our guest turners who volunteered their time to come and help students. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Larry Fischer, Mrs. Nikki Creemens, Mrs. Marcia Schopp, Mrs. Michele Bales, Mrs. Jackie Payne, Mrs. Susette Litwiller, Mrs. Rosie Litwiller, and Mrs. Melissa Pfieffer, for helping us with our jump rope rhymes.
