About me
Raised in Lincoln Illinois, I graduated from LCHS in 1972. After graduation, I worked a short while for the Federal government in Washington, D.C. and then came back to central Illinois for a couple of jobs in the private sector. Meanwhile, I was attending Lincoln College. Not really knowing what I wanted to do with myself, in 1976 I went off to the U.S. Navy where I spent 21 years traveling the world and working in Navy Intelligence. After retirement, I returned to this area and my family and I built a home out between Atlanta and Waynesville (partly because we wanted our kids to attend Olympia schools). After a couple of years as a substitute for Olympia, I went up to ISU and earned my degree in History Education and my State Teacher Certification.  I started teaching at Olympia in 2002 (sometimes full-time, sometimes part-time).
At Olympia, I'm the coach for the boys' and the girls' soccer teams. In my outside time (when I can find some), I'm into street rods.  I'm ready to start this summer on my soon-to-be pride and joy, a 1938 Chevy Coupe..hot rod-style. I'm building it from the ground up and hope I know what I'm getting into!
