Guidance Office News:

•        Seniors:  Be sure to check with your advisor for a new listing of scholarships.  There are several.  Two very lucrative ones are the General Assembly Scholarships for the 106th and the 87th district.  If you live in one of these congressional districts (which many of you do) and are planning to attend a state school in Illinois, you should check on these scholarships.  See Mrs. Butts if you do not know your district.

•        Senior students residing in DeWitt County are eligible to apply for the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship.  Applicants must plan to major in an agricultural related field.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

•        Heartland Community College is hosting “TechFest” on April 1, 2008 from 4 – 7pm in its new Workforce Development Center.  Participants will get information about their Technology Career Programs and learn about local career opportunities.

•        Are you interested in a career in aviation?  SIU Carbondale is having an aviation career day on Saturday, April 12th.  Applications are available online.  See the Guidance Office for information.
