Student Council Wraps Up School Year

After a very busy year full of events, things are winding down in the Student Council world. With yet another successful Mr. Spartan over and done with, the Student Council is now changing their focus on their end of the year activities.
With Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9), Student Council members spent a week honoring the teachers that make Olympia what it is. Each day of that week the Student Council did something to show that the student body really appreciates the teachers’ hard work.
Plans are already in the works for next year’s event as well. Homecoming is definitely a topic of discussion, as well as the day at the beginning of the year when the Student Council provides the student body with milk and donuts.
Also coming up in the near future are elections for next year’s board. Executives were chosen and introduced at the Student Council banquet May 13. Sadly this is Mrs. Castleman’s last year as Student Council Advisor, but she said, “It has been a wonderful experience and I have really enjoyed working with the students over the years.”
So next time you see a Student Council member, you may want to thank them for all the hard work they continue to do all year long!
