Parents, grandparents and friends were invited to the Tea

The Poetry Tea

Olympia North Fifth Grade

by Jessie Birckelbaw and Taylor Desch

May 23, 2008

The fifth grade had a Poetry Tea on Monday, the 19th of May! They had tea, cookies, and fun!

Each student reada memorized poem, a poem of their own, and if they wanted to read a poem with someone else they could.  Lastly, we performed Casey Back at Bat by Dan Gutman.  It’s a sequel to Casey at the Bat. It was really fun to watch, and we all had a really good time.

It seemed like we were at an actual tea party. It seemed like there were professional tea designers there. It was that cool. The tea cups were very fancy, and the tea was great!  We had a center piece for each table. There were also reserved spots four our guests. We used real silver tea pots and real saucers, cups, sugar bowls, and creamer pots!

The performances were great, all the food was fabulous, and the fun was endless! We can’t wait to see if the new fifth graders will love it as much as this years fifth grade class!!!  To see more pictures of our Poetry Tea visit our class web page or click here:  Olympia North Fifth Grade
