Especially for Parents

Our field trip to Pheasant Lanes is being rescheduled for October 24th due to a scheduling conflict! Your child must still turn in the permission slip (or a note granting permission to go) as well as $4.00 in a sealed envelope to a teacher as soon as possible. Additionally, if your child would like to purchase food from the snack bar, extra money will be needed. Students will need to wear socks!

I was delighted to hear many of the seventh graders say that several of our vocabulary words were "spotted" on the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests. We are always on the lookout for our new words and frequently share our sightings with the class. So parents, are you smarter than a seventh grader? Do you know what it means to be affable? Give an example of a behemoth creature. Have you ever been ostracized? Ask your seventh grader if you need help...

Speaking of Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests, Mr. Dugan treated all seventh graders to a snack and a little fresh air as a reward for a job well done on Friday afternoon! Thank you Mr. Dugan! Students then signed up for a "Mystery Activity." Choices included: Group Juggling, Lucky Legos, Fly Swatter Flash, Acid River, Mystery Mayhem, and Skunk. Which activity did your seventh grader choose?

Thanks to those who have posted a note about using SOLO. I appreciate your thoughts and ideas. We will be using it again in many different ways. A special thanks to Cheryl Surratt and Melissa Slager.
