Boys Baseball Wins Super Sectional, Advances to State!

The Olympia Baseball team has hit it off! They have a record of 27 wins and 7 losses this season, and are still staying strong! On May 14th at Clinton High School, they played Macon Meridian and won 6-1, advancing to the regional championship on Saturday, May 17th. For the regional championship game, they played Maroa Forsyth, wining that game 9-2.
Sectionals started on Wednesday, May 21st held at Lincoln Land Community College. The first game they played Beardstown and won 8-3, advancing to the sectional championship game. The sectional championship game was held at Lincoln Land Community College at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 24th. Olympia played for the sectional championship against Macomb.
They advanced to the Super Sectional on Monday, May 26 at Lincoln Land and defeated Carlyle 7-6. The state tourney is this weekend, May 30 and 31, in Joliet.
Olympia Baseball coach Ron Smith said the season as a whole has been, “Cold, wet, and windy.”
