OMS 8th Grader Emma Ross was nominated by the faculty of Olympia Middle School as a finalist for the IESA Scholar Attitude Award. This prestigious award, sponsored by State Farm Insurance, has been in Illinois Junior High and Middle Schools for 11 years. Yesterday's award represents the first time that a student from Olympia Middle School was selected to receive the award since the award's inception in 1999. Emma, daughter of David and Anita Ross of Minier, attended a banquet luncheon at the Doubletree Conference Center in Bloomington, where she was presented the award by IESA President Steve Endsley. She was accompanied by her parents and her principal. Emma received a plaque and a $500 savings bond for this award. Congratulations Emma!
