Table Top Disaster Excercise
Held at Olympia North Sept 17, 2009
The Olympia communities were well represented on Sept 17 at an Olympia North meeting. A Table Top Exercise to help prepare for a disaster was led by Keith A. Gehrand. Mr. Gehrand is a law enforcement consultant and former Captain of the Illinois State University Police Force. McLean County officials joined school administrators, fire/rescue, and police personnel at a Table Top Exercise with the primary focus on possible scenarios in the event of a tornado.
Administrators and public safety workers discussed the communication line and strategies planned in case of a tornado or other disaster. The school district volunteered to be a part of the efforts to promote awareness by the McLean County Disaster Preparedness Council. The district continues to focus on student and school personnel safety and security.
