Oly FFA Member is a Supreme Champion
Christine Todd, freshman FFA member, has had a busy and successful summer. She has worked very hard at showing the 2009 Supreme Champion Gilt Overall at the Illinois State Fair. Her pig then was the first to sell in the open sale being the highest selling crossbred gilt which was purchased by breeders in California. Fellow Danvers FFA member Ashley Kauffman was named Reserve Showmanship for Division 3.
Miss Todd was also named the champion of Division 3 Showmanship at the Illinois State Fair and placed 3rd overall in the Grand Champion Showmanship of all divisions.
She also had a very successful McLean County Fair. Some of the highlights were winning the Grand Champion Premiere Swine class and the Champion Senior Showmanship. She also placed first in crops and horticulture classes showing wheat, potatoes, green beans, carrots, and garlic.
Christine is very busy from May through August showing and competing at different shows. She travels all over the state to attend shows and her hard work has paid off. Christine has also attended three national shows this year going from Springfield, IL to Louisville, KY to Austin, MN. She is looking forward to the NAILLE in November which is held in Louisville, KY.
When Christine is not showing pigs she is playing club or school volleyball. She is also busy with the high school dance team and different FFA activities. She has worked very hard and Olympia is happy to see her have so much success. Congratulations Christine!
