Olympia Board of Education Members Earn Awards
Illinois Association of School Boards Recognizes their Accomplishments
Members of the Olympia Board of Education were recognized by the Illinois Association of School Boards for their participation and achievements at the annual IASB Corn Belt Division Fall Dinner Meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2009, hosted this year by Ridgeview C.U.S.D. No. 19 in Colfax. (They were later recognized at the regular Olympia Board of Education meeting on October 14 by Superintendent Brad Hutchison.)
Mr. Dean Langdon, IASB Field Services Director, congratulated the award recipients and reminded them that their achievements exemplify life-long learning that Board members should model for both students and community.
Receiving recognition for maintaining Master Status were Steve Matter and Trena Glenn, and receiving recognition for reaching Level II Status was Laura Cremeens.
IASB also recognized Olympia Board members Laura Cremeens and Kevin Frazier for becoming IASB LeaderShop Academy members through their attendance at IASB-sponsored LeaderShop workshops.
Superintendent Hutchison commended all Olympia Board of Education members for their accomplishments and dedication to the students of Olympia as they each support the Olympia Mission Statement: The Olympia Community inspires, educates, and challenges each student to achieve personal success.
