Olympia North Honors Veterans
Olympia North Elementary School students began Veteran's Day with an all-school assembly to say the Pledge of Allegiance together. Matthew Althoff, Student Council President, welcomed everyone to the assembly and started the Pledge of Allegiance. After returning to class, all students were involved in a variety of different activities to honor veterans. The fourth grade students made thank you cards for veterans to be sent to the VA Hospital in Danville. The second grade classes made Christmas cards and stockings to be sent to troops overseas at a later date. They also made thank you cards and star ornaments. Fifth grade classes also made thank you cards and put posters in the cafeteria saying why they are thankful for our soldiers.
