CEC Team Attends Winter Institute
On December 11, 2009, a 22 member team consisting of Olympia administrators and teachers attended a Winter Institute for the Consortium for Educational Change in Springfield, Illinois. Keynote speakers for the day long event were co-authors Rebecca DuFour and Richard DuFour. They, along with Robert Eaker, authored the book Professional Learning Communities at Work.
These authors are among the nation's foremost authorities of applying the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) principles in the real world of schools. They consult with state departments, professional organizations, and school districts across North America on strategies for improving schools.
Information on continuous school improvement was acquired by the participants who are eager to share with others. The Olympia team came away refreshed and motivated.
