Girls Track Already Running Strong
The Girls track team has been to two track meets so far this season. They are already running fantastic times on indoor tracks.
Times are harder to get on indoor tracks because the track is only a 200 meter track instead of a 400 meter track. The 200 meter track has much tighter curves which makes it hard, especially for the sprinters, because it’s hard to get up to speed when you are taking those tight turns.
“You definitely feel like your running sideways when you hit those curves,” said senior Elizabeth Wiggington.
So far the 4x200 consisting of Lindsey Mohr, Elizabeth Wiggington, Kami Carpenter, and Marissa Rader have qualified to go to Prep Top Times, which is like indoor state.
“I’m glad to be back running in track…I’m happy to be running so well sense I haven’t ran track sense 8th grade,” said senior Kami Carpenter.
