OHS Scholastic Bowl Wraps up Season
The Olympia Scholastic Bowl Team finished up a very competitive year this past Tuesday in Manito at its Regional Tournament.
At the Regional Tournament Olympia matched up against Central Catholic. The Spartans fought hard but lost to a good team.
By the end of the season, Sophomore Justim Aldred had taken over as Captain for Olympia.
The team may be a little disappointed with the outcome of this season but it was a learning experience and a lot of fun was had. There is much to look forward to with many underclassmen returning.
One major highlight of the year was beating Delavan at the Masonic Bowl on February 20th. The young Olympia team did not achieve as many victories as they may have wanted, but they were very competitive.
The Spartans will lose several senior players this May, but the future still looks bright. This year's seniors are: Landen Bell, Neil Jayswahl, Logan Lindsey, Michael Roy, Tyler Bennet, and Crystal Nelson.
“We had a lot of fun this year and I’m going to miss it,” stated Neil Jaswahl when asked about the past season.
Olympia will have around 13 promising players retuning next year. They will be looking to have learned from this past season and get some more W’s. “I’m excited to get back out there next year,” stated Chris Crandell
