Online Registration Announcement 2011-12
Olympia families will again register their children for school this summer using Online Registration through Skyward. Registration will be open through Skyward's Family Access from July 25 to August 5 and then re-open on Monday, August 8-10, 2011. Parents of students returning to Olympia will be asked to register their student electronically.
New students will need to register in the school office on August 8, 2011 for Elementary School and August 9, 2011 for Middle and High School students. Elementary and Middle School hours will be from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm each day.
High School New Student registration will be from 8:00 to 3:30 on August 9th by appointment only. Please call the high school at 309-379-5911 ext 9023 for your appointment after August 1, 2011. Online registration will NOT be available until July 25, 2011. For families without internet access at home, please register online at your local community library or your school on the designated "new student" registration day stated above.
Families will go online through Family Access with the same login and password that they are currently using. If you do not know your password, please contact Scott Powers at 309-379-6011 xt. 1110 or email at scott.powers@olympia.org.
You may register your returning Olympia student any time from July 25 to August 5, 2011. Below are the steps to follow to register your child.
1. Open Family Access found on the Olympia homepage.
2. Login
3. Click the button in the upper left corner labeled-Register (your student's name)
4. Begin with Step 1. For the elementary school, there are 9 steps to be completed and you will be able to pay your fees online in the final step (step 9). (Elementary) There will be 10 steps for OHMS students.
Here is a brief summary of each step:
Step 1-Your basic student and family information including emergency contacts and numbers. Changes and updates are made here and saved.
Step 2-Ethnicity-By federal law, we are now required to ask parents to verify ethnicity. Please mark your child’s ethnic background.
Step 3-Medical Release and Procedures, Persons Permitted to pick up your student, and Health Requirement deadlines, if applicable
Step 4- The link to the Olympia website for all Important Information, Documents, and Forms
Step 5- Verification for textbook use and permission for other media/ technology items
Step 6- Student Handbook and Student Insurance verification
Step 7-Transportation/Bus Card for all transported students
Step 8-Food Service Letter and information concerning electronic Free and Reduced Meal Applications and Fee Waiver. If interested in applying, you will be able to do it online in this step.
Step 9-Payment-Fee sheet and the link to RevTrack, the electronic payment company.
For OHMS, there will be the Activities Release information in Step 9 and the Payment step will be Step 10.
The electronic payment company is called RevTrack and there will be a $1.00 processing fee for each transaction. As in the past, you will have the option to pay your registration fees in the school office or by postal mail. Families with no computer access may use a computer at their local community library or at the school media center on August 8th, NEW Student Registration Day for Elementaries and August 9th, NEW Student Registration Day for OHMS. We hope you will find the new online registration process to be easy and convenient.
HELPFUL HINTS:
*Be aware that each student will need to be registered separately.
*After completing each step, you will be asked to check a box.
*If you skip a step, the system will remind you to go back and complete the step and check the box.
*You will be able to start the process, save, and go back to complete and submit the registration at a later date.
*Please finalize your student's registration and BE SURE to hit the "submit" button.
*If you have provided an email address, you will receive an e-mail confirming the registration was completed and submitted.
*The system will assist you by providing much of your information, such as student and family demographics and other basic information. There will be no need to re-enter name and other pieces of repeated information such as parent, phone, address, and home school.
*You will have the option of paying fees online or you may use the US postal mail or deliver a check to your school office.
