Olympia Welcomes Middle School Principal
On Monday, August 9, 2010, the Olympia Board of Education hired Andy Walsh as Principal of Olympia Middle School.
Mr. Walsh is a familiar face in the Olympia District having been employed by the District for 4 years as a Social Studies Teacher and coach at OHS. He began his teaching and coaching career at Badger High School in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for two years, followed by 1 year at Fisher High School and 1 year at Flora High School prior to coming to Olympia. Mr. Walsh recently completed his Masters in Educational Administration and Foundation degree at Illinois State University and is eager to begin this new school year at Olympia Middle School. During his tenure at Olympia, he has served on numerous committees such as School Improvement Leadership Team, the Citizens in Action Committee, the Literacy Cohort, and many others.
Mr. Walsh resides in Mackinaw with his wife, Jami, and their two children, Noah, 2, and Lily, 7 months. He is a Packers fan and a Cubs fan, but mostly enjoys spending time with his family.
The Olympia Board of Education, Administration, and staff are very pleased to welcome Mr. Walsh into this new position as Principal of Olympia Middle School. We look forward to working with him as the 2010-11 school year begins on August 16, 2010.
