Welcome Back Breakfast
Relevance in Learning: Olympia and Beyond! was the theme on August 15, 2011. It was Opening Day for the Olympia CUSD 16 teachers and staff. Employees were served a wonderful breakfast compliments of Minier Community Bank. Following the breakfast, Superintendent Brad Hutchison welcomed everyone and all gathered in the auditorium for a presentation by the Olympia Board of Education, Administration, and the Olympia Education Association.
Guest Speaker, Diane Stempinski, Asst Regional Superintendent spoke to the Olympia staff about Professional Development and the Common Core Update. New teachers were introduced and the audience learned of updates and training on many topics for the new school year. Various breakout department and PLC meetings took place following a delicious lunch served by Olympia Food Services. A very nice time was had by all. An exciting new 2011-2012 school year is about to begin!
