Principal's Welcome
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Olympia South Elementary School. The mission of the the school and the Olympia School District is:
"The Olympia Community inspires, educates, and challenges each student to achieve personal success."
Olympia South is one of three elementary schools in the Olympia CUSD #16, a district that is home to eight communities in five counties encompassing 377 square miles. The staff at Olympia South serves approximately 330 students representing PreK - 5th grade. The Olympia South school educates children from the communities of Waynesville, McLean and Atlanta. The Olympia South facility is located in Atlanta and has recently undergone renovations that included the addition of geothermal heating and cooling as well as the addition of a new office area.
The staff at Olympia South is composed of elementary teachers, specialists, and support staff members. The collaborative approach we take to teaching and learning serves the staff and students well. Student achievement is our focus and as a result of the staff's hard work and diligence our students continue to perform at high levels. In addition to a strong academic curricula, the staff at Olympia South incorporate character education throughout the year. We believe in educating the whole child, fostering independence and problem solving through engaging instructional activities.
