2010 Fall Festival Coming to Minier
September 11
Welcome the cool breezes and beautiful days of fall on Saturday,
September 11 at the Minier Fall Festival. The event opens with a Vendor Fair and Business After Hours from 2-7 p.m. Home-based businesses and crafters will be located on Main Street during this event. Several Minier businesses will also be open. Companies participating in this fair include K's Kandies, PartyLite, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, GB Designs Jewelry, Edge Photography, Longaberger, Grandma's Angels Embroidery, TLC Kanvas Designs, Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, Usborne Books, and others. Area runners and walkers are invited to join us for a 5K run/walk throughout the village ending with a post race party featuring The Good Tangerines. This race will be chip timed giving you the exact time you stepped across the starting line to until your finish. Did we mention entertainment at this first-year festival is FREE for all? In addition to The Good Tangerines on stage from 3-6 p.m., the event will host a Fall Festival Idol from youth 18 and under. The first 10 participants will be in the competition. The contest will feature celebrity judges and cash prizes to the top 3 winners. For more information, call Deanna Bennet at 309-264-2898. A local band, Lakemuckers, will close out the festival from 8 to 11 p.m. This cover band recently played at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard and will have you dancing in the street! Bring your lawn chairs to enjoy all of the entertainment. Plenty of food and drink will be available. The Main Street Grill will be open during the event. The Explorer Scouts will have drinks available for purchase. Minier Lanes will be hosting a beer tent at the event. Bring your friends and enjoy all of the festivities.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - If you have a couple of hours to give on September 11, we can use your help. Jobs range from set up and clean up, selling 50/50 tickets to helping us check IDs at the beer tent. If you've got some time to give, please call Ann at 309-392-2883.
