Bubble Gum Experiment
Seventh grade students used their knowledge of the scientific method to decide which brand of bubble gum would blow the largest bubbles. Each student was placed in a group and assigned a job to perform for that group. Students posed a question and wrote a hypothesis. The controlled variable in this experiment was that the same person had to test all three brands of bubble gum. The manipulated variable were the three brands of bubble gum - Bubblicious, Hubba Bubba and Dubble Bubble. Students recorded their data on a chart, created a graph and wrote a conclusion based on their findings. Students found that Dubble Bubble blew the smallest bubbles and Hubba Bubba blew the largest ones.
