Locks of Love Competition Announced
Olympia South's character education initiative will include the opportunity for students to donate their hair to the "Locks of Love" organization. All hair donated will be used to create hairpieces for disadvantaged children that have suffered hair loss. The mission of the organization is included below:
It is Locks of Love's mission to promote the well being of children through its program of providing hairpieces. All events and fund raisers held on behalf of Locks of Love should uphold and reflect the mission and desire to help disadvantaged children.
Students that are interested in participating have until May 7, 2010 to grow their hair. On May 7, 2010, an assembly will be held to watch our students' get their hair cut. This will be an all school celebration event to recognize these students for their selfless contribution.
