Geometer's Sketchpad is a Great Learning Tool
Fifth grade math students at Olympia North often use laptops and the computer lab to develop an understanding of mathematical concepts. The computers allow students to explore and solve problems using programs such as Geometer's Sketchpad and Tinkerplots. Both of these programs allow students to manipulate data and draw conclusions. This week, students used Geometer's Sketchpad to manipulate triangles and quadrilaterals. They discovered that triangles always have exactly 180 degrees and quadrilaterals have exactly 360 degrees. Learning has never been so much fun. To see more pictures of fifth graders at work, click here to go to our class web page: Olympia Fifth Grade.
