Prisms and Pyramids
During math class, mobiles of pyramids and prisms were created by the fifth grade at Olympia North. The prisms and pyramids were made from straws held together with hot glue guns. Parents and grandparents came to class to help students glue with the hot glue guns. We had 10 adult volunteers to help. Thanks to each of them for making this such a successful project.
Each student created two prisms and two pyramids to hang on their mobiles. For each shape they completed, they filled out a chart that listed the shape’s name and the number of faces, edges, and vertices for each. The mobiles are hanging in the fourth and fifth grade commons. To see more pictures visit our class web-page by clicking here: Fifth Grade
