OHS Cheer Team Has A Better-Than-Ever Season
The OHS Cheer Squad has reached new heights this year whether it comes to improved, more complicated stunts or just becoming closer as a team, which is crucial for such a trust-based sport.
UCA, or Cheer Camp hosted at ISU in June lets the girls improve their technique, stunt and jump skills while building the team and bringing them closer. “We started out rough, not everyone knew each other but camp really helped us connect... this season was better than we expected, “ said Junior Captain Jennifer Litwiller.
If you haven't already noticed at recent basketball games, the cheerleaders pull some pretty amazing and difficult stunts. “The stunts are more difficult and continuous,” commented Coach Natalie Cahill. This means that one single stunt could have many new combinations that take strength from both the basers and well as the stunter.
Tryouts for the 2010-2011 school year will be held Friday, April 23. Make sure you tune into announcements so you don't miss the opportunity to be a part of a squad that just keeps getting better!
