Reception for Retiring Baseball Coach Ron Smith
The public is cordially invited to a reception honoring retiring Olympia High School Varsity Baseball Coach Ron Smith. The reception will be held in the OMS Gym on Friday--May 14, 2010 directly following the last home varsity baseball game versus Maroa-Forsyth. The game begins at 4:30 pm.
Coach Smith will be retiring in May after 33 years serving the students of Olympia. He is presently a member of the Physical Education Department and Varsity Baseball Coach at OHS. He also has served as OMS Baseball Coach, Head and Assistant Football Coach and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. Highlights of his illustrious career include three IHSA Baseball Championships (2002, 2008, and 2009) and a runner-up finish in IHSA Class 3 A Football in 1985.
