Olympia Progressive Baseball Association to Host First Annual Legends Baseball Game
The Olympia Progressive Baseball Association (OPBA) will host the first annual Legends Baseball game on Sunday, August 8th at the Olympia High School baseball field. The Legends team will consist of past Olympia baseball players, who will compete against the 2010 Olympia Legion Varsity team. This event is an opportunity to bring together the past, present, and future of Olympia Baseball and to celebrate the success of the program.
To recognize everyone who has contributed to the great success of the Olympia Baseball program, all previous players are invited to attend. We hope to see players from the inaugural team of 1973 to those who graduated as recently as 2010.
The roster for the Legends team has been selected for 2010. All Olympia alumni baseball players in attendance will be recognized before the game individually. All OPBA players will be recognized by team.
In addition to the excitement of a great baseball game, there will be ballpark food, 50-50 raffles, entertainment, and a photographer to take team or individual photos. Bleacher seating will be available, and fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
The festivities will begin with introductions at 1:00 p.m. The first pitch will be thrown at 2:00 p.m. All alumni players that plan to attend are asked to arrive by 12:30 p.m. for registration. OPBA players should also arrive by 12:30 p.m. and should dress in their full uniforms. Legends and Legion team members are asked to arrive by 12:00 p.m.
The OPBA is excited to begin a new tradition! Please join us for the 1st Annual Legends game on August 8th.
