Olympia High School Announcements – Thursday, Sept. 9

               

  • There will be a meeting for all National Honor Society members on Friday, Sept. 10 at 11:50 in the auditorium.

 

  • Student Council Members:  Our student council meeting has been changed to first lunch for Friday, Sept. 10th.  Once again that is 1st lunch!  Junior and senior students bring your lunch to the meeting.  Freshmen and sophomores check in with your advisor before coming to the meeting.

 

  • All Dance Team members need to come to the Commons at this time.

 

  • Students please take note:  Now that we have picture I.D.’s you will need to show your I.D. to enter athletic events.  If you do not have your I.D. you will be required to pay the entrance fee.

 

  • Student Council is collecting money for the Homecoming Fireworks.  You can donate money during both lunches in the Commons and at the Football Concession stand.

 

  • Applications are available in the Main Office for students interested in participating in Success Club.  The first session will be Tuesday, September 14th.  Please take an application and return it by Monday, September 13th.

 

Guidance News:

  • A representative from U of I – Champaign will be here during advisory on Friday.  If you are interested in attending the visit, you must sign up in the Guidance Office.

 

  • Are you passionate about giving back to your community, doing well in school, and demonstrating the potential to lead others?  If so, you might want to apply for the “Nestle Very Best in Youth:.  Winners receive lots of fabulous prizes, including $1,000 to donate to the charity of their choice; an all-expense paid trip for them and a parent to attend the amazing awards ceremony in Los Angeles in July, 2011; and are featured in the “Nestle Very Best in Youth”publication.  You can apply online at http://verybestinyouth.nestleusa.com before November 1, 2010.  Anyone ages 13 – 18 is eligible to apply.

 

  • Juniors and seniors:  The Greater McLean County College Fair is Tuesday, October 5 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the ISU Bone Student Center.  There will be a Financial Aid information session at 5:30.  Over 90 college and university representatives will be available to answer questions from students and parents.

 

Faculty Announcements:

  • Teachers: Please distribute picture I.D.’s in Advisory today.
