Olympia Graduate Joins Olympia's Administrative Team
By Board approval at the regular scheduled Board of Education meeting held on Monday, February 13, 2012, Olympia Community Unit School District No. 16 employed Mr. Ben Lee as Principal of Olympia North Elementary effective August 1, 2012. Mr. Lee will be replacing Mr. Fred Shears upon his retirement.
A 2001 graduate of Olympia High School, Mr. Lee continued his education at Eastern Illinois University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education-Physical Education, later earning a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Western Illinois University.
Mr. Lee’s experience includes teaching Health and Physical Education for Washington District No. 50 for the past four years as well as serving as the school’s Head Baseball Coach for the past three years.
Mr. Lee, along with his wife Hannah who is also an Olympia graduate, look forward to rejoining the Olympia family.
