Olympia Students Attend 84th Annual National FFA Convention

OHS Agriculture Teacher/FFA Advisor Corinne Brown, along with FFA students Micah Ott and Evan Jodlowski, shared a powerpoint presentation with Olympia's Board of Education on November 14, 2011 of their recent trip to the 84th Annual National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. This annual trip allows the Olympia FFA students to attend one of the largest student conventions in the country with nearly 55,000 FFA members and guests from across the country. Micah and Evan told of their participation in workshops focusing on leadership and community involvement, as well as attending a college/career fair and listening to keynote speaker Dave Roever who served as a river boat gunner in the elite Brown Water Black Beret in Vietnam. While at the convention, Olympia students were excited to see their District’s name listed as one of the big winners of this year’s Monsanto Grant.
