Minier Christmas Parade Scheduled for Saturday, December 12th

Plan to be a part of or just come out and watch the Minier Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12th!  The theme for this year's parade is "It's an Olympia-Spartan Strong Christmas" and student organizations as well as community groups will be featured.

If you are part of an Olympia team, club, school, organization, or community of the Olympia District, you are invited to join the parade.  The parade organizers are trying to practice social distancing by encouraging decorated trucks, cars, or lawn tractors decorated and followed by a walking unit. For those who enter as a walking unit that is decorating some type of vehicle, they will offer $25 seed money for the decorations to the first 10 groups signed up. Prizes are 1st Place - $75, 2nd Place - $50 and 3rd Place - $25. You can get the entry form by going to minier.com or by contacting Carolyn Hansen at carolynsh7480@gmail.com.

The event is also bringing back the Spirit Award for the two parade entries that exhibit the best Christmas and Spartan Spirit.

Be sure to mark your calendars for December 12th at 2:00pm for the Minier Christmas Parade!  What a great way to kick off the holiday season!

All the details of the parade and other holiday activities sponsored by the Olympia Kiwanis Club can be found at minier.com or the Olympia Kiwanis Club of Illinois Facebook page.
