
With a slim squad of 7 athletes (due to injuries and spring break vacation absences), the OHS boys’ track team competed yesterday in the Sangamo Conference Indoor Championships at Williamsville High School. Congrats to the following athletes for attaining All-Conference status: TJ Gellner took 6th place in the triple jump, CJ Moore took 3rd place in the 800 m run (2:14.78), and Kaleb Jacobs, Kaden Wilcox, Brendon Hardimon, and TJ Gellner teamed up to take 4th place in the 1600 m relay. Season-best performances were achieved by TJ Gellner in the triple jump (36’ 6.25”) and in the 1600 m relay (56.1 split), Kaleb Jacobs in the 1600 m relay (55.4 split), and by Cohen Ellis in the 400 m dash (1:02.96). An all-time personal best effort came from Cohen Maness in the shot put with a throw of 40’ 7”. The Spartans will compete next in their first outdoor meet at Greenville on Saturday, April 5th.




The OHS boys’ track team faced stiff competition yesterday at the 36-team Cogdal Invite at ISU’s Horton fieldhouse. Season-best performances came from Evan Petri in the 1600 m run (chopping 10 seconds off his previous best and running 5:41.71), TJ Gellner in the 60 m dash (8.01 sec), Cohen Maness in the shot put (adding 6” to his season-best with a toss of 39’ 3.5”), and Chase Ragar in the 4x400 m relay (posting an all-time best split by nearly 2 seconds at 56.3 seconds). Newcomer Brendon Hardimon brought some excitement to the team with his debut performance in the 60 m dash with a team-leading time of 7.65 seconds and anchored the 4x200 meter relay with a solid 24.7 sec split. The team is planning for more exciting news when they compete again tomorrow in the Sangamo Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Williamsville High School.



Varsity Softball Spartans with a 7-2 victory over Dee-Mack. Lydia Rutledge with 3 hits including double and an RBI, Gabby Frye with 2 hits including a solo home run in the 2nd inning), Sophia Ortiz with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, Brooklyn Komnick (2 RBIs), Khloe Chenoweth (RBI). Gabby Frye scattered 6 hits, allowing 2 runs (both unearned) while striking out ten. JV Softball lost 4-7. The Lady Spartans will host Washington (V/JV) on Tuesday at 4:30 pm.

Varsity baseball got a 5-4 win tonight vs Warrensburg Latham. Alford (2RBI), LaBelle (RBI)with a hit apiece. Birky (2R, 2SB) and Gellner (RBI) also let the offense. Dabney (3IP, 2ER), Walker (4IP, ER) picked up the win. Spartans at Lincoln tomorrow 10:00 am.
