Please see the following statement that was released by Edmentum regarding the recent outages of Calvert Learning.  We at Olympia remain committed to creating the best online learning environment possible for all of our students.  Expect more communication, particularly around our iPad device users soon.  Thank you for all of your patience so far.  Let’s be a model for how to adapt to external complications and come out #OlySpartanStrong!


Hello Partners, 

As we begin this academic school year, Edmentum is working closely with schools and districts all over the country to provide guidance, support, and best practices for implementing hybrid and virtual learning in their communities. Never before have educators started a school year with such a reliance on virtual education partners, and that is a responsibility that I take extremely seriously. We are absolutely committed to ensuring that families have a positive and productive experience as their children enter this new school year.  

Over the past two days we have experienced slowness and intermittent unavailability from our K-5 curriculum platform – Calvert Learning. I understand this has caused frustration for parents and students as well as your staff. My team and I wake up every day focused on ensuring your experience with our programs and services exceed your expectations. I sincerely apologize and assure you this experience is not consistent with the level of service and support we expect from ourselves.  

Edmentum is deeply focused on providing quality and reliable digital curriculum and assessments. My team and I are working hard to resolve any issues that stand in the way of that goal and to ensure a high level of quality that you should expect from Edmentum. You have my personal commitment to that point

We believe we have solved those challenges today by eliminating a collaboration feature that is provided by one of our external partners. I’ve included a link to a more detailed communication from our Chief Technology Officer, Paul Johansen, that can also be shared with parents. 

As we all navigate these unprecedented times, Edmentum stands with you in doing everything we can to support families this academic year. You can rest assured that we have the expertise and scalable systems in place to ensure you are prepared and fully supported. While we can’t answer all of the unknowns, we will stand with you and can continue to support your online learning needs.
