
Lady Spartans bounce back last night against Riverton with a 3-1 victory! Senior Raquel Birky got the scoring started with a great 1 touch shot off a cross from Senior Grace Birkey. Sophomore Elyse Eimer continued the scoring shortly after adding 2 more to her season total. Girls improve to 3-3-1 on the season, and continue action tonight as they welcome the Little Giants from Canton for a 4:30 start.

Varsity baseball grabs a big 14-8 win at Tolono tonight. LaBelle(3H, 5RBI), Dabney(2H, RBI), Koehler(2H), Alford(2H, 3RBI), Gellner(2RBI), Hohulin(RBI), Walker(1H). Dabney(W, 4IP, 1ER), Alford with a 3 inning save. Spartans host Pleasant Plains(#1 ranked in 2A) Tuesday at 4:30.

Varsity Softball pounded out 15 hits in a 12-0 five-inning victory at Tremont. Gabby Frye threw a no-hitter, striking out 10. Gabby also went 3-3 at the plate including a double and 3 RBIs. Lydia Rutledge with 2 hits (double and triple) and 2 runs scored. Khloe Chenoweth with 2 hits (double) and an RBI, Brooklyn Komnick with 2 hits and an RBI. Kennedy Finchum with 2 hits. Finley Hoffman with 2 RBIs. The Lady Spartans improve to 5-2-1. JV also picked up a 13-8 victory to improve to 3-3 on the season.

The JV baseball game vs. Tolono Unity for today has been cancelled. The varsity game that was scheduled for today at Olympia will now be played at Tolono Unity at 4:30pm. Freshman and JV will practice after school.

Varsity Softball with another road victory at Mahomet, defeating the Bulldogs 7-6. Khloe Chenoweth went 2-4 with a 3-run home run in the 3rd inning to put Lady Spartans up 4-1. Eva Ortiz with 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Morgan Huffington with the game winning RBI base hit in the top of 7th. Gabby Frye picked up the win in the circle (7 IP, 10 H, 6 runs/3 earned, 5 Ks) also with 2 hits. The Lady Spartans improved to 4-2-1 on the season. JV softball won 7-2.

Varsity baseball picks up a road win at Rantoul 6-2. Dabney(2H, Walker, Hohulin, Birky, Gellner, LaBelle, Alford with a hit apiece. Koehler(2RBI). Walker(7IP, 1ER, 4K's). Spartans are on the road against Tri Valley tomorrow at 4:30.

Varsity Softball with a 2-0 victory at Bloomington High School. The Lady Spartans scored both their runs in the 3rd inning, Lydia Rutledge with a double to right, Gabby Frye reached on an error moving Rutledge to third and scored on an RBI bunt single by Eva Ortiz. Khloe Chenoweth followed with an RBI sacrifice bunt to drive in the Spartan's second run. Eva Ortiz with two of the Spartans' three hits. Gabby Frye with another strong pitching performance allowing just one hit, striking out eleven for the complete game win. The Lady Spartans improve to 3-2-1.

The girls soccer game scheduled for today March 31st at Peoria Manual has been cancelled.

Varsity Lady Spartans Soccer slips out of Meridian with a 2-2 tie on Friday night. Goals came off the foot of Sophomore Elyse Eimer and Senior Raquel Birky. Girls return to action tonight as they travel to face Peoria Manual. Kick off set for 4:30.
