October is Principals Month

October is National Principal Appreciation Month.  We are lucky to be blessed with great Principals at Olympia!  Below are a few questions and answers from Mrs. Peifer and Mrs. Steve.

Principal Kristina Peifer, ONE - Fall 2022

Where did I go to college?  Bachelor’s - ISU, Administrative Degree - Olivet Nazarene

I spend my time with…Daniel (husband), Cayden, Reece and Gage (three sons)

The best thing about working in Spartan Nation:   I’m able to do what I love in my home community. I grew up a Spartan, have always lived in the Olympia community and now I have a chance to be part of the Spartan Legacy. The relationships with students, staff and families feel more authentic and meaningful!

A fun fact about me:  I love to travel and hope to visit all 50 states!

I became a principal because I like being part of the bigger picture of school and student improvement but wanted to be in a building with kids daily.

The best thing about my job:  The students! I love watching kids learn, learning from students myself and being a part of their life. I love their stories and the connections I can build with them. I'm thankful to be part of their journey!

Administrative Intern - Lisa Steve - Since 2022

Where did I go to college?  B.A. Psychology - Ashford University; M.S. Counseling - Eastern Illinois University; Completing M.S. P-12 Educational Administration - Illinois State University

I spend my time with…My husband Jake Steve and my 22 month old son Layton.

The best thing about working in Spartan Nation:  The relationships and community. The staff all come together like a family to support students and one another.

A fun fact about me:  My husband and I love to go backpacking and camping in the mountains.

I became a principal because I want to be part of creating an environment in school that students enjoy coming to everyday, that challenges students to do their best, and that staff feel supported in.

The best thing about my job:  The students!  Every student has potential to change the world for the better and it is so rewarding to watch them learn and gain confidence in their abilities.

Thank you both for all you do for the students and staff of Olympia!
