Spartan Plates

The Olympia School District has been granted approval by the Secretary of State’s Office to have special use license plates issued to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Olympia School District.  These plates can only be displayed for a 60 day period, so we have chosen to have them displayed in the 60 days leading up to the class of 2023 graduation date, which is on Sunday May 21st, 2023.  These plates can be displayed on your vehicle from March 24th, 2023 until May 22nd, 2023.  These plates will be a one of a kind item as the state does not allow any organization to repeat the same plate design or color scheme after being in use for one time.

To order a set of these commemorative plates, please fill out this online order form: Olympia 50th Anniversary License Plate Order Form.  You must enter your current license plate, the expiration date, your name, address, city, zip code, vehicle year, vehicle make, and driver’s license number.  You must also send in a copy of your current registration card in order for us to process your order.  The copy of your registration card needs to be dropped off at any Olympia location or a copy can be emailed to andrew.walsh@olympia.org.  The commemorative plates cannot be customized with the lettering/numbering.  Each plate will have three numbers on it that will be randomly assigned once an order is submitted.

The cost of these plates is $40.  Cash or checks made out to Olympia CUSD 16 may be dropped off at any Olympia location or mailed to the Unit Office: Attn Andy Walsh 903 E 800 North Rd Stanford, IL 61774.  Payment and a copy of your current registration card is due by March 1st, 2023.

You can now also pay online with a credit card.  If you click on this link: Online Payment Option for License Plates, you can pay with a credit card.  Click on "Donate to Anniversary License Plate Order", you can continue as a guest or create an account, add the total to the cart, and then enter in your credit/debit card information, and your payment will be processed.

If you live out of state and would like a set of these plates, the state of Illinois does allow us to sell you these plates, but they cannot be displayed on your vehicle.  The state of Illinois is not able to connect out of state registrations to Illinois plates.  Your plates will be mailed to you from the Secretary of State’s Special Event Plate Division after May 22nd, 2023.

If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to reach out to Andy Walsh at andrew.walsh@olympia.org or 309-379-6011 ext 1114.   You can fill out the License Plate Order form that is linked above before sending in payment or submitting your registration card.

All orders for the license plates are due by Wednesday January 18th, 2023.  We will not be able to accept any late orders as this deadline is in place in order for the production of plates to take place and be delivered before March 24th, 2023.  More information will be provided about times and places to pick up your license plates once we have the license plates in hand.
