Seventh grade students recently participated in an interdisciplinary unit on bats. In ELA, they read about a disease impacting bats and researched a topic of interest. In Social Studies, students learned about the historic use of bat guano in manufacturing gunpowder. Math students spent Halloween working on bat-related problems. Science classes did bat stations and concluded the unit deepening their learning by mapping out connections they'd made through activities in each class.
