Olympia volleyball opened tonight with their first match against DeeMack. Varsity played tough and lost a close 3 set barn burner! 25-16, 16-25, 25-23.

8th grade baseball falls to Morton 7-3. Sloan with 2 hits. LaBelle and Springer strong on the mound, giving up only 2 earned runs on the night. Spartans are home tomorrow vs Monticello.
The high school boys soccer game for tonight has been cancelled. The middle school boys baseball game vs. Morton has been moved to Minier for a 6:00pm start. The middle school baseball "B" team game at Williamsville as been cancelled.
8th grade baseball got an 9-4 and 6-4 win at Washington today. Pierce, LaBelle and Byrne had multiple hit games. Sloan with a Grand Slam and a 2 run HR on the day. Alexander, Byrne, White and Springer all had solid performances on the mound. Next game is at home Monday vs Morton.
Olympia girls golf team outscored 3 other teams today to take 2nd place at Shambolee GC in Porta. Madi Barnes Led the Lady Spartans and tied for 2nd place overall.
8th grade baseball gets an exciting 7-6 win over Williamsville tonight. Sloan, Byrne and Walters with multiple hits. Pierce gets the win, Springer with the save. A diving catch by Olson ended the game with the tying run in scoring position. Next game is Saturday at Washington.
8th grade baseball gets a 13-1 win at Parkside. LaBelle and Byrne combine for a 1 hitter and allow no earned runs. LaBelle also had 3 hits, Springer with 2 hits. 8th grade is at home tomorrow vs Williamsville. 7th grade loses at home to Parkside 12-1.
Madison Barnes led the Olympia girls to a third place finish at Edgewood Golf Club today. Madi out- scored the entire field placing first shooting a 44. Congratulations Madi!!
Olympia Girls golf team kicked off their season competing in the Blue Ridge Tournament. Madison Barnes led the field posting an 89 taking first place. Great job Madi!!
Olympia Boys golf played in a quadrangular today at The Rail in Sherman. The team placed 2nd overall with a score of 185.

8th grade baseball loses 14-4 at Chatham. 7th grade falls 13-0. 8th grade is at Parkside Wednesday, 7th grade hosts Parkside.
8th grade baseball loses at Pleasant Plains 11-0, 7th grade falls 12-6. Both teams are in action Monday at Chatham.
8th grade baseball gets a 12-0 win over Maroa Forsyth to go 1-0 on the season. 7th grade falls 5-0 in the second game. Both teams will be on the road at Pleasant Plains Saturday.
New Olympia teachers spent two days with each other, District administrators, and some veteran teachers getting oriented to Olympia. It is a great group with only four brand new teachers as the others are coming to us with experience in other districts. We ended our time together with a bus tour of all eight communities. Their energy and enthusiasm was impressive!
The OMS Baseball and Softball games scheduled for today 8/9 have been cancelled due to weather.

Thinking about joining an awesome sport?? Never played but want to learn ?? Come join some history in the making with the boys soccer team as they are coming off of a GREAT and HISTORIC season last fall and looking to build on the success as well as have some fun while we are at it!
We are practicing 9:30-11 Wednesday and Thursday this week and then 3:30-5:30 on Friday with a Parent Meeting to follow.
Please bring cleats and shin guards to practice, and make sure you get registered with Mrs. Olson in the front office!
