Olympia High School proudly presents, in cooperation with MTI International, Shrek: The Musical. The musical takes the stage of the Leticia G. Esquivel Theatre (Olympia High School auditorium) on May 7, 8, and 9 at 7 PM. Shrek The Musical follows a grumpy, solitary ogre whose swamp is invaded by fairytale creatures evicted by the ruthless Lord Farquaad. To reclaim his peaceful life, Shrek makes a deal with Farquaad to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Alongside a talkative Donkey, Shrek completes the mission, but an unexpected romance develops between him and the princess, who is hiding a curse. In the end, Shrek embraces his feelings, breaks the curse, and learns to accept himself, finding true love and friendship. Principal characters are played by Grayson Rummel, Bella Galanos, Tristen Rotholtz, Leo Durheim, and Mira Kistner. Additionally, thirty-five Olympia High School students have played a critical role in bringing this story to life. The musical is directed by Dr. Ed Jodlowski, Aubrey Zega, and Megan Whitecotton. The pit is under the direction of Kevin Greene. Tickets will be available at the door, but may be limited for Saturday evening, as we will welcome Olympia Elementary students to the stage. The cost is ADULTS: $10, STUDENTS: $6. You can reserve tickets by emailing ed.jodlowski@olympia.org - tickets will be placed in an envelope and may be retrieved when you arrive - please plan to have cash or a check made payable to Olympia Drama.
