Olympia High School is thrilled to announce the official groundbreaking ceremony for its highly anticipated campus expansion project. The school district warmly invites students, families, alumni, community members, and local media to join in celebrating this historic milestone on Monday, June 1st, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
The new construction project represents a significant investment in the future of Olympia High School’s academic, athletic, and administrative capabilities. The comprehensive expansion will include:
A New Multipurpose Facility: A versatile, state-of-the-art space designed to support a wide variety of student activities, athletics, and community events.
A New Weight Room: A modern, fully equipped fitness and training center to support the health, wellness, and athletic development of all students.
Three New Ag/FFA Classrooms: Dedicated, specialized learning spaces to accommodate and grow the school's thriving Agriculture and FFA programs.
A New Unit Office: A centralized, modernized administrative hub to better serve the needs of students, staff, and the broader district community.
This groundbreaking represents the start of an exciting new chapter for Olympia High School. These new facilities will provide our students with the top-tier resources they need to excel in the classroom, in competition, and in future careers. We are incredibly grateful for the community's support in making this vision a reality and can't wait to celebrate the start of construction together. The funding for this project was made possible by the Olympia voters approving the referendum in 2024 and McLean County voters approving the County Sales Facility Tax in 2025.
Following the ceremonial turning of the dirt, attendees will have the opportunity to view architectural renderings of the new facilities and hear brief remarks from school administrators, board members, and student leaders.

Where: Olympia High School Campus, 7832 North 100 East Road Stanford, IL 61774. The ceremony will take place on the south side of the existing high school building.
We ask that all Olympia students, families, alumni, and community members that attend wear some type of Olympia apparel or wear school colors for this event.
