Frost covered the course as our Spartans arrived at Maple Lane Country Club for their IHSA Cross Country Sectional Championship in Elmwood. As the temperature rose, so did the spirits of our athletes. The girls spearheaded the way with a strong 4th place finish only 19 points behind Pleasant Plains 1st place. Amelia Kistner lead the way in 19:15 with Emma Swartzendruber shortly after in 19:21! Chrystal Cornwell closed to a 19:39. Abby Litwiller and Cam Lawson finished out the scoring positions within one second of one another in 20:29 and 20:30. Anna Bieber pushed to a 20:59, and Kaylie Dare finished in 23:28. On the boys’ side, Logan Demling paced the Spartan runners in 16:42. Caden Clark grinded out a 17:04. Cooper Phillips and C.J. Moore ended the race two seconds from one another in 17:32 and 17:34. Logan Farquhar was our 5th scorer in a time of 18:43 followed closely by Jacob Lawless in 18:46. Evan Petri finished out his freshman campaign in a time of 19:36. Emma, Chrystal, Caden (season best), Logan F., Jacob, and Evan achieved personal bests in their respective races.
Look to see the girls continue their season in the State Championship race next Saturday at Peoria’s historic Detweiller Park. They take the course at 9 A.M. Let’s go Spartans!

Chatting online can feel just like talking to someone in person, but it's actually quite different. It's all because of something called the "online disinhibition effect," which makes us more likely to share/communicate differently than if in person.

OHS students are learning to weld (or practicing) with this virtual reality welding machine. Amazing technology that our kids have access to due to the machine being shared with Oly for the semester.
